In the dark winter months one can easily go unseen as a cyclist. Therefore, in the dim autumn and winter light, it is important to attract attention because better visibility means greater safety for cyclists. And Sugoi goes right by this idea with its 2013/2014 fall/winter cycling equipment collection that features neon colors and 360 degrees of night time reflectivity.

Up first is the versatile RPM jacket which combines wind and water-resistance with a modern design. The Hydro-Shield material of the RPM jacket has a woven exterior with DWR coating for excellent abrasion resistance and protection against wind and rain. This lets the jacket reach a hydrostatic head of 9000mm. In addition to the waterproof fabric, the RPM is equipped with laminated zippers. Among the clever features, the RPM has a long back that protects against water splashes and cold wind. The specially designed microfleece lined collar, performance neck and comfortable cut offer optimum comfort, while numerous reflective elements improve visibility in low light conditions.

The RPM Jacket is available as a men’s version in Neon-Yellow, Red and Cyan in size S–XXXL or as a women’s version in Super Nova Yellow, Matador Red and Cyan in Sizes XS–3XL and retails for 109.90 euros each.

Next on, another jacket makes it to the final list of Sugoi’s new products. The Versa Jacket, already a multiple test winner, is one of the manufacturer’s most innovative jackets with its successful combination of functionality and design. The new autumn/winter collection 2013/2014 equips the wind and water resistant jacket with a fresh design and an expanded color palette. The addition of Ripstop weave fabric and mesh panels increase protection and ventilation. What remains is the convenient feature that makes the Versa unique: with ten hidden magnets the jacket turns in seconds from jacket to vest. Once pulled back and the sleeves are removed easily – then you hold a kind of “Versa bolero jacket” in your hands which can be quickly stowed in the large back pocket of the vest.

To increase the visibility on cloudy days and at dusk, the Versa Jacket also has 360 degree reflectors. Three zipper front and back pockets round out the feature set of the trendy jacket. The Versa Jacket will be available in a men’s version in Red/White, Cyan/White, Black/Red, Black, Neon-Yellow, Green and Blue in size S–XXL and a women’s version in White/Green, Green, Cyan, Black, Pink and Neon-Yellow in size XS–XL. The retail price of the garment is 99.90 euros.

Last but not least, the new collection features another jacket, the wind and rain-resistant Shift jacket  which is an appropriate base protection during the transitional, also having a clean and casual design. The Shift fabric, which provides the jacket its name, features a subtle diamond pattern, is lightweight, with protection against wind and rain thanks to its DWR finish. A weatherproof zipper with a garage ensures esthetics and high functionality, and the jacket features many clever details including a close-fitting microfleece collar that ensures a 100% wind protection in the riding position.

Additional ventilation holes under the arms provide personal climate management on the go. Stylish reflective accents ensure visibility which is essential during the transitional and winter light conditions. Not to forget about the practical side of things, we must remind that the entire jacket can be folded up and stowed in the little back pocket.

The Shift Jacket is available as a men’s version in Neon-Yellow and Black in size S–XXL and as a women’s version in size XS-XL for 79.90 Euros each, while the sleeveless version (Shift Vest in Neon Yellow) is available for 64.90 euros.

Other apparel includes the Zap Shoe Cover, a highly reflective, wind and water-resistant bike shoe cover, which is perfect for rainy trips in the nighttime. The fully reflective overshoe has an offset zipper placement to allow for easier access and prevents Achilles Tendon irritation. The Zap Shoe Cover is available in sizes S–XL and retails for 59.90 euros.

On the same list with the shoe cover you can find the rain gloves and Zap arm warmers.

The RS Rain Glove is a reflective thermal rain glove that provides protection on cold and rainy days. The neoprene design serves as an insulating protection from wind and rain, while the glove’s details provide comfortable seating with its ergonomic curvature and becomes a convenient interface to the handlebars. Another useful feature is the conductive material on the thumb and index finger which allows you to operate on smartphone touchscreens. Furthermore there are reflectors on the fingers for enhanced visibility in low light or at night. The RS Rain Glove is available in Black in size XS–XL for 39.90 euros.

The Zap Arm Warmer is an ergonomic, reflective arm guard, which is perfect for trips in the transition season. The soft, brushed inner side of the MidZero fabric improves the moisture transfer and air flow while retaining body heat close to the skin. Flat seams help to create a body-hugging fit, a consistent, reflective strip provides better visibility in the twilight in the often difficult lighting conditions. The Zap Arm Warmer will be available in Black in size XS–XL and retails for 29.90 euros.

Completing the line-up is the The Zap Helmet Cover provides weather protection and powerful reflective visibility for your most valuable asset. High powered waterproof and wind resistant two-ply stretch laminate for foul weather protection with reflective accents for low light and night time visibility. The Zap Helmet Cover is available in Black and Supernova Yellow in one size that fits all and retails for 24.90 euros.
