Open Cycle is a new small company which has big ambitions. The most efficient way they want to make themselves known is to make an exclusivist product which will make everyone turn their look back and gaze at the new product. In my opinion I think they managed to do just that with the new 1.0 AXX1, a hardtail carbon 29er with incredibly thin tubes and beautiful finishing.
We are not only speaking of the aspect but also about the components: a 100 mm travel Cannondale Lefty Carbon XLR fork, a 680 mm wide carbon handlebar, a carbon stem, the saddle and seatpost are also made out of carbon by AX Lightness.
The gearing system is the Sram XX1 with a chainring and 11 sprockets in the 10-42 teeth format. The crankset is not made by Sram. Instead it comes from THM, the Clavicula M3 175 mm chain-arms carbon model. To end the list I must specify the carbon rims and the Magura MT8 brakes with carbon levers.
The total weight of the bike with this configuration is 7.3 kg, out of which the frame only weighs 871 grams! The bike is available with more configurations which you can see here.
