Close up: Belkin Pro Cycling’s Bianchi Oltre XR.2

With a spot left open after Vacansoleil DCM’s timely exit out of cycling’s top league, Bianchi is set now to supply Belkin Pro Cycling with top notch road bikes in the 2014 season. Among the bikes offerd by the Italian manufacturer, the Oltre XR.2 stands as the flagship model, and will aslo play the role of the team’s main workhorse.

Having the unmistakable Bianchi design isn’t the only strong point of the XR.2. The frame is built to combine design and performance through Bianchi’s “design technical oriented” approach: light frame for optimal climbing performance and Ultra Thin Seat Stays (UTSS Technology). It also features an aero shape, with new integrated aero fork and internal cable routing to make the bike faster on the flat and downhill segments. Larger chain stays and down tube, together with a 86.5x41mm bottom bracket area make Team Belkin’s Oltre XR.2 more rigid to better support explosive attacks. Also, the X-Tex carbon technology contributes to have an exceptional torsional rigidity thanks to a carbon weave structure molded into the headtube and BB areas.

The Oltre XR.2 frame of Team Belkin, assembled with Shimano Dura Ace Di2 electronic groupset, features internal battery positioned inside the carbon seatpost, which is one of Bianchi’s own developments.
