A reader asked us an interesting question which we considered was worth turning into an article: how do you correctly fix cleats on a cycling shoe?
The procedure is simple, but you need to have a little patience. It is recommended that they are mounted properly. For this tutorial we chose a set of Shimano MTB shoes and the corresponding cleats.
Firstly you need to identify the two extreme points of your foot. The extreme point from the side of the thumb should come over the axle of the pedal.
Next put on the shoes and mark the two points on them with a marker or a pencil.
The cleat must contain 2 screws and a washer that help keep it into position
Fix the cleat temporary. Do not thread the screws completely.
With the help of a ruler unite the two points that are now marked on the shoe. Position the cleat such that its middle is in front of this line.
In the end firmly tighten the two screws.
